Period 8

We have dropped slightly and rank 3rd at the start of this period. This slip on our part is chiefly due to the fact that the Others market is over saturated with six highly similar products — our strategy to saturate the Others market failed because all our competitors were trying to do the same thing!


This saturation situation was not a complete loss as it has offered us a valuable lesson: careful consideration must be given to competitor actions in order to determine what direction they are planning to move their product mix. Our main goal for this upcoming period will be to get rid of inventory and reinvigorate the sales of our Sonites. As was planned previously, we will reduce our total number of products down to four (drop SOCK this period) so that we can shift more of our advertising and sales force resources to our key products. Thanks to the generous support of the Bart Industry Government, we are again receiving a subsidy this period. We will spend the extra budget on expanding our sales force so as to keep ourselves on par with the industry competitors’ levels.

With increased R&D activities, advertising expenditure, and sales force resources, we believe we will be able to continue to improve our sales in this ever competitive environment.

So, y’all modified me hoping to attract more of the Others segment, but instead you make them lose interest…something is wrong here! I have a suggestion. Perhaps it is due to the price increase?? Hello!?!?!?! People don’t like to buy products that have already been out for a while when their price increases! Now, you have almost 119,000 units of me in inventory and you only made around $1600 contribution after marketing…I’ve seen better! I really hope y’all can get your act together…I am a very worthy product that deserves success!

OH. MY. GOD. My life is like COMPLETELY OVER! I HATE THE OTHERS!!! Could I be any more insulted that I only sold 3,673 units?! Well I guess since my modification really DIDN’T capture ANY attention, I am going to have to accept the inevitable and graciously bow out.

This rise in volume sold is phenomenal. I think things are going fairly well, excluding the fact that VEXX improved their production cost to make their product more efficient. They are now able to further lower their price, thus being higher in demand. I’m still currently being targeted towards the Adopters, while they’re at the Followers so not really a head-on competition. I think I’m slowly moving to the bigger market so wish me luck!

Well, you listened to me alright – maybe a bit excessive considering inventory of more than 45,000 left over – but I do appreciate the faith for once. I know things will be fine since you don’t plan on modifying me anytime soon, so just a decrease in price and baby, you know I’ll be gone in no time!

YES YES YES YES! I am FANTASTIC (if I do say so myself). My modification helped me to increase my sales by 3.5%, AND I am outselling SELF by almost double! I think there is still some room for improvement. I hate to admit this, but even I am not perfect right now. I’ve realized that the more my ad budget is, the more attention those Hi Earners are giving me, so this time I am increasing my ad budget to $3.85M with an ad research budget of $550K. It will be impossible for them to ignore me now!!!
